Getting the Size Right
Baby sizing is by age band — 0–9 months, 3–6, 6–12, 9–12, 12–18 and 18–24 months — but babies vary enormously within each band, and the bands overlap between brands. Weight and length are more reliable than age.
Two rules save most returns. First, size for the date of the event, not the date you order: a baby can move through a full size band in six weeks. Second, when between sizes, take the larger one. A slightly roomy outfit is fine in photographs; a tight one will not fasten over a nappy.
